History

Hans Gamper, an athlete, and Swiss football pioneer, arrived in Barcelona in early 1898. Alongside his professional business, in his free time, he always played football in Bonanova. In October 1899, He decided to form a football team and placed an advertisement in Los Deportes magazine. His advert said that Gamper was willing to organize football matches in Barcelona, and was looking for people interested in this sport.

On 29 November, The team was finally formed. The members of the original group were: Otto Kunzle, Walter Wild, John and William Parsons, Otto Maier, Lluis d’Osso, Bartomeu Terradas, Enric Ducal, Carles Pujol, Pere Cabot, and Josep Llobet.

Throughout the history of the football club Barcelona, it has won multiple domestic and worldwide trophies, including 26 La Liga, 13 Supercopa de Espana, 30 Copa del Rey, 3 Copa Eva Duarte, and 2 Copa de la Liga. Along with these domestic trophies, the club is the record holder for many competitions. Barcelona has won 20 worldwide and European titles: 3 FIFA Club World Cup, 3 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, 5 UEFA Champions League titles, 5 UEFA Super Cup, and 4 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. According to Barca's official website, the club's greatest joy and pride in the 5 European Cups titles won in 1992, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2015, and also the FIFA Club World Cup won in 2009, 2011, and 2015.
